Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, Ph.D.

Dr Al-Thani is the Vice President of Education at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

In 2003, he became an assistant professor in Civil Engineering at Qatar University, specializing in water resources and environmental engineering. In 2004, Dr Al-Thani joined RAND-QPI, contributing to a number of research projects, including Qatar University’s reform initiatives and the development of new proposals to foster quality and innovation at a national level in Qatar.

Dr Al-Thani was appointed Vice President, Education of Qatar Foundation in 2005. Qatar Foundation aims to make Qatar a hub of innovative education and cutting-edge research. As VP, Education Dr Al Thani has been central in establishing the Foundation’s wide-ranging educational initiatives, which offer academic programs from early childhood education through to postgraduate research.

Dr Al Thani holds a Doctorate in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Southampton and a Masters from Colorado State University.
