Professor Ahmed Elmagarmid is Director of the Cyber Center and Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University. He has served as Chief Scientist for Hewlett-Packard. He served as an industry consultant to among others: Telcordia Technology, Bellcore, IBM, CSC, Harris, MCC, Nortel, MDL, SiDr Medical and Research Center and UniSql.
In 1988 he received an NSF Presidential award from President Ronald Reagan. He was named distinguished alumni by both the Ohio State University and the University of Dayton in 1993 and 1995, respectively.
Professor Elmagarmid received a B.Sc degree from the University of Dayton, a M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Ohio State University, all in Computer Sciences in 1977, 1981 and 1985 respectively. He has held positions at Pennsylvania State University, the University of Padova and Purdue University. |
