Dr Ibrahim B. Ibrahim joined Qatar Government in 1988 as economic expert and advisor to The Heir Apparent, and is currently an Economic Advisor to His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. In 2006 Dr Ibrahim was appointed to the position of Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Development Planning. He is also a member of the Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas and National Health Authority board of directors; Vice Chair of RasGas Company Limited and Chair of the RasGas Marketing Committee.
Prior to this Dr Ibrahim was a Senior Economist at Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, UK from 1986-1988 and Director of the Economic Department at the organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries, Kuwait from 1979-1986. From 1970-1978 he was Associate Professor of business and economics and quantitative methods at the University of Hawaii, USA.
Dr Ibrahim holds a PhD in Business Administration from New York University and has numerous publications in the areas of forecasting, Business Economics, and Energy Economics. |
