Dr Tyseer Aboulnasr is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ottawa, Canada. She received the Ottawa-Carleton YWCA Women of Distinction Award (Education) in 1999 and became Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada in 2002 and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2003. She was chair of the Council of Ontario Deans of Engineering in 2001-2002. She was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa from 1998-2004.
She was named one of the top 100 influential people in Ottawa in 2001 and awarded the prestigious Order of Ontario in 2004. She has participated in several revues of strategic plans of several faculties of engineering nationally and internationally.
She is very active in bridge-building community organizations and national collaboration of Muslim organizations in Canada. Dr Aboulnasr research interests are in the general area of Digital Signal Processing and its applications.
